    Hi all,

Our 9yr old Zanussi FL 1085 washing machine will just sit there gently humming after doing the main wash, before it emptys the water and will not go into the rinse/conditioner/spin cycle. If we move the control dial a click or two it will go into the spin/empty cycle.

We have noticed that the washing is very warm when we take it out, maybe due to not having the rinse. And that the conditioner is not being used.

Could you throw any light onto this fault, is it worth a repair if the controller has gone?

    Many thanks.

    Regards,
    Steve.

The pump is playing up or you need to clean the filter (or both)?

    Hi

It could be the cold fill valve not opening or cold tap turned off.

    Hi,

    Tnx 4 your replies… 🙂

It will pump out when you move the control round a click.

Looks as if it might be the cold fill valve as the cold mains is OK.

Am I able to check that myself?

    If so, how?

    Cheers… 😛

If it pumps out i should imagine the water has been let into the machine in the begining so i should imagine the cold valve (but cant remember if there is a double cold valve on this model dont think there is) is ok unless it only fills on a boil wash. If you have to manually turn the dial around a click to move things on and its filling ok heating the water ok and emptying the water ok and spinning ok i would be looking towards the timer.

    ALL SORTED !!!!! 😛

Turns out that the cold valve on our mains feed was at fault. The plastic tap bit had split and we were not turning on the cold feed – doh ! 😕

    Anyhow, cheap fix.

Many thanks to all for putting me on the right trail…

    Cheers 😀
