Zanussi FL-884 production

(Hope this is the right forum)

Can anyone tell me when the Zanussi Nexus FL-884 was last produced (or where I can find this information)? This would help me decide if it’s worth fixing as I don’t know how old it is.

It’s not completing a cycle. It keeps stopping – won’t spin or drain. If it’s this old I’m not sure it’s worth fixing although at this point I don’t know what is wrong. I’ve checked all connections, filters etc. It did work when I just put washing machine cleaner in the drum but with clothes in it doesn’t want to finish. Something to do with balance? I have read that it might be the controls on the front.

Capacitor start and run motor on this one. It uses a capacitor to (effectively) store a charge and boot the motor into life. Over time, this charge reduces and the motor does not run correctly.

Capacitors are typically £12-£18 depending on what’s required – probably worth checking out.
