ParticipantAny suggestions please on why the two spin cycles on this machine are not spinning as fast as normal ? All it seems to do is tumble as if tumble drying.
I changed the bearings on this machine about 2.5 years ago, but I can’t remember if there was another belt which delivers the high speed thrust.

1/ Filter clear?
2/ Carbon brush drive motor – brushes may be worn.
3/ Water level control system may be sludged up, causing the machine to think it’s full when it is actually empty.Deal with the first two first. The third ones a bit complicated.
Power off if you’re going in…….

😳 Thanks Pen, I cleared the filter just now… as well as being 10 euro cents better off than I thought I was, it seems to have done the trick.
We’ll try a wash cycle to see for sure.

Hmm, on empty the spin ran at high speed seemingly ok, but with a wet bath mat in the drum its struggling again to get up to any speed.
Is the weight of the washload providing resistance to worn brushes that an empty drum wouldn’t ?

Hi
Wet bath mat is not the best thing to use as a test . Try a normal load and see if this makes a difference.

Tried normal load with no success. I’ve also changed the brushes as well as having the motor bench tested. The motor itself is fine as the following video without the belt indicates. Shortly after I took this video, the motor went into full throttle long spin with all the normal noises
etc..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5wHXYcb_ms
When I attach the belt to an empty drum, it spins beautifully. I can hear it going in the background now as I type..
The problem seems to be when I load the drum with the wet bath mat, the sluggish performance starts all the way through the spin cycle. The following video shows this..

When I turn the flywheel with the belt off the drum just keeps on turning freely so I don’t think there’s a problem with the bearings either.
I’m proper scratching my head here..

Just read Dave’s sticky about machines not spinning properly. 😳
We’re trying a proper normal load now and leaving the wet bath mat to drip dry for now.
