I’ve just taken a look at our washing machine because my wife reported that it had started to leak water out of the soap dispenser. To my surprise this doesn’t happen when it is filling but it seems to go into a short fast spin burst when it has water in the tank. This is forcing water back up the detergent inlet to the tank and out through the detergent drawer!
I’m assuming it either shouldn’t be spinning (Except gently) whilst there is water in the tank, or it should spin the other way (away from the detergent inlet)…. Help???

The tacho magnet on the end of the motor has fallen off by the sound of it.
If you use the search facility and type “tacho” (without the quotes), check any Zanssi one’s and you’ll find the answer 😀

What can I say??? Thank you very much!
The tacho magnet was still in place but loose. The thread was OK so I have screwed it back hard finger tight, not wishing to strip the thread. If I’m being a whimp and should have taken a wrench to it then please let me know. Otherwise I will keep an eye on it and know what I’m looking for next time. Thanks again I know where to look next time I’m puzzled 😀
