Thumping noise during spin. It sounds like loose counterweights but they are both secure. There are no split eyes on the dampers. If you try to steady the tub with your hand it stops making the noise. The bearings feel smooth and there’s no play evident. I stripped the machine to check for a crack in the drum spider but it looks perfect. Any suggestions? The machine sounds no more noisy to me than some makes do when brand new but the customer insists that this thumping only started about a month ago. 😕

Had this fault on Candy/Hoover a couple of times. No significant play was detected in dampers but replacing the one on the side where applying pressure to drum top during spin caused noise to cease cured the fault.
Hope that makes sense. Try reading it three times if not.
