Sorry if this is the wrong forum but I cant see an obvious one for recommendations.

Anyway, my 5 year old Zanussi IZ161S Front Load Washer just dumped a full water load on my wooden floors, I cant see any loose hoses externally, the drainage hose is secure, the filter is clean and secure incl the small drainage pipe beside it, I’ve tilted it to look underneath and nothing obvious. ER10 was the error code my wife thinks

    so, 3 questions please………

    1) Any idea what it might be and a quick easy fix?
    2) tHE rubber seal round the door stinks with black gunk, I assume its a build up, is there a product (apart from bleach) to keep it clean?
    3) What’s a good reliable washer out there these days? as mine is on 3 times a day I need a good and quiet one that doesnt rock my house foundations………..;)

    thanks for any help

    Hi

1 I`ll leave this one alone for a more qualified person than I 😉

2 There is a good article here
with further links which may help you solve this problem.

3 Bosch are a good all round brand well made, two year warranty and local service. An alternative would be our own ISE machines.

    Hi

It probably got missed due to the high number of threads and posts around that time. Coupled with the fact that a lot of the engineers who try to help out on here for free were busy with there own paying customers.

A simple “bump” is always a good way to bring a thread back up the list 😉 you never know someone may have the answer you are looking for.

hi.. sorry the threads been missed, it doesnt happen very often

ive had a few iz machines that have holes punched in the bottom of the tub.. they quite flimsy

e10 is normally a water intake valve faulty during dry.. and since it isnt a washer dryer, i suspect thats not the case

other things to check? the pressure hose from the bottle to the pressure switch? sometimes they chaff and can split, causing the machine to continually fill

the easy way to check, of course is to fill the machine.. how soon does it leak? does the machine fill very high? with leaks, a visual inspection is the only way to find the leak

    as for replacements?

im a great fan of bosch machines.. still quality… a little over the price of the indesh!t stuff, and will handle what you throw at it

the rest of them are tat

of course you could look at the ise, well priced considering the length of guarantee and service network.. although i have no knowledge of them, and it would be unfair for me to pass jusdgement

of course, theres miele machines… quality without a doubt, yet poor back up and extortionate spare parts in the long run make it a sticky wicket

    hope this helps?
