ParticipantHi
I have a Zanussi FLS1183W Which is failing to stop filling. The solenoids on the hot & cold inlet are fine so I suspect that the pressure switch is faulty. Could anyone out there tell me how to find where the pressure switch is on this model and how to check out that it is or is not working. Thanks.June 5, 2010 at 11:42 pm #321691aqualectric

Very unlikely to be the pressure switch at fault. Either:-
1) There is a small hole rubbed in the pressure hoses;
2) The pressure chamber on top of the filter housing is full of sludge. This is a fiddly job; but not too difficult. The pump / filter housing has to be removed from the machine to do this properly.
Power off before any investigation begins. :plug:

Thank you Aqualectric 😀

😳 Sorry but could you tell a newbie where to find these.2) The pressure chamber on top of the filter housing is full of sludge. This is a fiddly job; but not too difficult. The pump / filter housing has to be removed from the machine to do this properly.
This seems most likely as it was working fine untill we turned it upside down whilst moving it. 😆
I can recognise the drain pump. If I take it off, and clean it out, will the pressure chamber be obvious? Do I need to remove it as well to clean it ?

Turned it upside down? 😯
The pressure chamber is the turret on top of the pump / filter housing with the small rubber hose going to it. You can locate this with the machine leant back against the wall and a torch. The chamber is usually blocked with sludge and if you have turned the machine upside down (8O) it is possible that this sludge has been dislodged and blocked the chamber.
Pump / filter housing out is the only real way of cleaning it thouroughly. It is the type of job that you would try to avoid doing twice, so do it once…..properly.Power off before any inspection. :plug:

OK. Thanks for the info, aqualetric. Turning it upside down was not intentional. 😆 We carried it up three storeys of fire escape and nearly dropped it on a tight turn. That’s when it ended up the wrong way up and some sludge came out of it.
