ParticipantPlease Can Anyone Help
Zanussi Fls1386w makes grinding noises on spin and wash….
Girlfriend said it was like something metal stuck in drum……and water all Browny Colour in washing machine.
After 4 Hours had taken back off … Top Rear Weight …. Top Springs and Bottom Telescopic Springs..Undone all the front facing Screws that hold Outer (Plastic) Drum together …. taken off Motor and Belt….Seperated Rear outer plastic drum which also has inner drum attached….
Now have no idea how to undo big nut which holds the wheel (Which the belt goes around “Sorry dont know proper name”) and the silver inner drum together.
Question 1 …How to undo this nut as the inner drum turns when applying pressure???
Question 2.. If i get this off will i be able to access the Bearing as this is “I Think” cause of noise…and poss water colour if their rusty….
Question 3…Have put all back together now for time being (2 Hours) and have noticed that when pushed in Heater Element doesn`t seem to want to sit in properly….Was surprised that there was no gasget or seal when removed is this common….
Question 4 .. Where is serial number of this machine (So as to be able to order Bearing Kit .. Inner/Outer seal etc…
Question 5.. Whats a Drum spider????Many Thanks in Advance of Replies…
P.S Was bit of a nightmare but only cost is time then NO Problem its been a trouble free machine up til nowOctober 15, 2006 at 7:07 am #192249Martin

You will need to secure the drum pulley whilst unscrewing the bolt anti-clockwise to release. The two halves of the drum are sealed with one of these and the replacement bearings and seals are here. The heater slides into a small guide wire located in the base of the front drum half by the way. A drum spider is the inner drum shaft assembly shown here 😉
