ParticipantI just bought yesterday a zanussi ZFT11105WA freezer and was told by the seller that it is frost free but after contacting zanussi they’ve advised it’s not. Unsure what to do and which info is correct and seller wont accept it back. Please can someone help

ModeratorWhen you say the “seller” was this a retailer? As this is now discontinued was it sold as new?

KeymasterIt’s a freestanding under-counter machine so it was highly unlikely to be frost free.
If you bought it on eBay or using PayPal you might be able to raise a dispute as it not being as described but from any other source as a second hand buy you might struggle to get anywhere.

ParticipantNot frost free as just looked it up for you. Just a normal old school freezer, but they were usually well made. Does it actually work? If yes, that is great because frost free stuff is a load of trouble and grief, if running but no ice forming that is what he or she meant by “frost free” i.e. lost its refigerant and you`ve been well and truly stitched up like a kipper.

Moderatorits also worth noting that if it was frost free there would be a lot less room for food storage inside

This was a private seller and sold as used on gumtree so of course no come back.
But can’t be bothered for the headache to manually defrost every few months.October 12, 2024 at 9:00 pm #491454b4u2

Yes it works and our main fridge freezer is of course frost free and not had any problems with that at all.October 12, 2024 at 9:02 pm #491455b4u2

I am unsure what you mean by lot less space if frost free?
At least we wouldn’t have to manually defrost.October 13, 2024 at 7:27 am #491456don

At least we wouldn’t have to manually defrost.in a non defrost freezer they use the shelves as freezer bars as such you dont loose any space inside
in a self defrost freezer you have a fan and the evaporator plus defrost heater at the rear of the freezer. as such your internal depth reduces by about 100mm
if you look at the specs of normal and self defrosting units you will see the freezer storage space is less
