Zanussi fridge freeezer defrosted and not cooling

Hi daughter just caled me her Zanussi integrated fridge freezer has defrosted overnight model no ZI918/12K.

Can i ask is it more than likely the thermostat (any way to test) or could it be something else?

Okay cleaned it out and switched it back on and 20 mins later it’s cool getting on cold, so any ideas, hope it was just needing defrosted

Woke up this morning and it is warm again – but the compressor still appears to be running. any ideas? Thanks

Most likely cause is either it is short of refrigerant, the compressor (motor) is faulty or you have a defrost cycle problem – time for an engineer 😥

Thanks for the reply don’t think it’s worth repairing then, might have been if it was only the stat that was gone I could of changed that myself
