    Hi

    Zanussi ZX99/5W, serial number 44900253.

The problem we are having is that the fridge keeps getting warmer.

In the top of the freezer is a vent that I presume lets the cold air go up up to help cool the fridge. Inside the vent are metal fins and these keep icing up and then the fridge temperature rises.

I defrost this vent and the fridge temperature returns to normal for a few weeks and gradually raises again.

Can anyone suggest what the problem could be? My only thought is that it may be the door seal on the freezer, but it looks to be in reasonable condition, so before replacing it I thought I’d ask some experts.

    Thanks in advance
    Colin.

door not sealing right, or cable/pipework entrance to freezer section (at back of appliance) not sealed up properly are the most common problems

    Hi.

Eurocombi this one. It will usually be an open circuit defrost heater or an out of calibration temp sensor. If you have a suitable test meter you can test the heaters for resistance which usually is around 200-250 Ohms observing all safety precautions first. Should that be ok, it will be the sensor.

    Hi SpinDoctor

What do you mean by Eurocombi this one?

Is it more likely to be the defrost heater or temp sensor than the door seal or pipe-work that Seamy suggested?

Thank you both for your replies.

    Hi.

With all due respect to Seamy, I think he may be thinking of a more recent range of products which have given problems. Your one is from a range known to the trade as Eurocombi.
