Zanussi Fridge Freezer not cooling

Afternoon all ,
I have a Zanussi FridgeFreezer (Model ZK61/28RN, PNC: 925600648-01)
which has stopped cooling (either fridge OR Freezer).
We were away for a few days and came back to one almighty stink – wasn’t around to see it go, so don’t know of any strange noises, etc. it may have made as it expired !!

Any suggestions on where to start ?
The mains supply to the unit is good, inside light still operates , but compressor does not run…..HELP !!

Hi SitRep,

It could be a compressor (likely) or thermostat failure (unlikely), very hard to tell without more information.

Normally if the stat fails it will fail open, so it keeps freezing.

There is a klixon/relay assy on the compressor that could fault but you’d have to be looking at it knowing what you’re about and have a test meter to go much further.

Thanks for the suggestions on this one , hope to take a look at this later this week – work has taken me from home for the last few days , so didn’t get to t/shoot properly yet – Thanks again !!
