I have a very basic under-the-counter Zanussi fridge, model tt 160c.
I has barely been used. Unfortunately after moving it (carefully) from 1 place to another it has stopped cooling. The motor runs and the light comes on when the door is opened. There is some green deposit on one of the pipes coming from the compressor.

    Is it fixable?

How soon after moving it did you turn it on?

I left it for some 3 hours – which I understand you are supposed to do. Any further thoughts?

Several possibilities, none of them you’re probably going to like very much. 😉

Damaged pipework in move – gas escaped – dead fridge
Internal blockage caused by transporting incorrectly
Internal blockage by not standing long enough
      Compressor pumping weak

I really can’t think of anything else that would give the symptoms described along with the circumstances.

Depending on the age of the machine it’s pretty much terminal as all of the above would cost more to sort than a replacement if it’s just a basic fridge.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings. 🙁

Agreed , depending on what the fridge is worth why not try finding an engineer in your area and get some quotes? This site has a pritty good search. 😉
