Zanussi Frost Free Fridge/Freezer (fridge not cold)

Hi all, your expert advise is much needed.

Zanussi ZX99/5W Tall Fridge/Freezer (Fridge at top)
18 months old
Frost free
R600a Refrigerant
376 litres gross

The freezer works fine.
Fridge temp is 16 Deg C
Temp warning light did come on, I reset it thinking that the door had been left open.
A few hours later all three warning lights started flashing.
I powered off, all lights now stay off but temperature still wont drop below 16 Deg.
I can hear the fan stop and start when I open the door.

So to summarise, fridge doesn’t get cold and I’m not receiving any warning messages like I used to (beeping noise and flashing light).

Please can you advise, and if it is seriously poorly would it be better for me to buy a new one.

It shouldn’t be a major problem to be honest, it sounds like a defrost problem to me.

Ice build up in the freezer compartment more than likely, either caused by the door being left open accidently or there’s a problem with one of the defrost components.

Try emptying the unit, switch off and leave the doors open for 24-48 hours to get rid of any excess ice, it will solve the problem either temporarily or permanently.

If it happens again, you’ll need an engineer to check for you, come back and let us know how you get on please 😀

My fridge freezer does the same as this. The fridge warms up with the freezer working fine. We called out an engineer who said to defrost it. That worked fine but after two months the same thing has happened. We religiously make sure the door is shut. Is this a flaw in the design? The f/freezer is now 3 years old BUT I cannot keep defrosting the fridge.
Any recommendations

Could you please give us the product code or pnc number (starts 928…….) as there are five versions of this model, whilst similar they are not the same
