ParticipantZanussi FS1355W
Type: P6848646
Product No: 914791118/00Hi
In most instances when I currently try to start my machine, the drum will not fill and the End LED will flash and beep 3 times and after a few minutes it will stop trying to fill and the machine will stop
I am invariably able to get one load washed per day through luck or perserverance with the End LED beeping and flashing 2 times at the end of the cycle which the manual says means the water is not drained. However, there is no excess water visible in the drum or when opening the emergency emptying hose and pump impeller.
I had an engineer look at it today and he suggested I contact Zanussi to send out a service agent as they have the necessary equipment to analyse the PCB (which of course could be the problem) to diagnose what’s wrong.
However as they have quoted a minimum cost of £101 to look at my machine, I was wondering if anyone has any idea what the 3 beeps/flashing error could possibly mean.
Thanks in advance

The end LED flashing twice at the end of a cycle would indicate an emptying fault.
At the start of the programme the pump should run for a few seconds if this fails to happen then the programme will abort, which sounds like what is happening to your machine. A competent person “with the power to the machine off” should be able to determine whether the pump is being obstructed or failing to run.

Thanks for the reply Andy. The engineer showed me the pump running smoothly whilst the machine was switched on so hopefully that shouldn’t be the problem.
However, I may have caused another one :rolls: . I inputted a diagnostic button sequence from another thread which made the drum spin but the original problem remained. I then sillily randomly held buttons when turning the programme dial which caused the machine to lock and then start after a few seconds without need for the start button to be even pressed.
Further random button bashing resolved this thankfully 😀 but it has put in my mind whether there is a method to reset to default settings that could sort out my original problem.(Probably wishful thinking I know 🙂 )

ParticipantHi I would not advise putting the machine into diagnostic mode without the service manual.
If you press the wrong buttons you can easily re- programme the pcb so it thinks its another appliance. In awnser to your other question, no recoding the pcb may clear the fault from the memory but the fault will re-occur unless you solve the underlying fault.
