Last owner was economical with the truth…”may need brushes” = “someone’s disconnected the brushes, the plug-fuse is blown, the door’s jammed and there’s an “e 40” code up.

Well, I’ve removed the doorlock and repaired it (contacts were welded together) machine will programme -up OK but drum revolves continuously.

DC board at bottom right is now clean and checked -out OK.
moving to the main-board….there’s a SPARE plug from it with 3 wires (blue/yellow/blue)—the yellow goes to pin 10,which shows some overheating…but this track forks to the adjacent track as well as being double-sided board.

The question is, should there be another board at the top of the machine.

all I’ve found is the mains filter and 2 pressure-switches under the top crossmember adjacent to the main board…the main-board-holder has a lug which would appear to be for mounting something else….

did the lady tell porkies, or do i have a board-fault?

Display/selector board in the fascia, power board in the box at the top, motor convertor board in the bottom – that’s your lot. I can find no reference to any cable being left spare. The only three way cable on the diagram appears to run to a pressure switch, but there is no indication as to the colours.

Thanks, Penguin, they are onto a 2-pin to edge of board (greys) and one of the multipin’s further down the same edge. (blue)
The converter-board is dead simple, even for me! (not the brightest spark where semi-conductors are concerned)
I’m pretty convinced that it’s a dead transistor on the board,as the programmer all appears to function…so I might invest in a fancy DMM with a built-in scope/logic -probe function.
watch this space! I’m not paying over £100 for a board!
