My zanussi IZ16 washer has just started to develop in intermittent squeal when in wash mode.
I assume this is the first sign of bearing failure and am going to swap these out.
Is there anything else on the washer that would be good practice to replace whilst it’s stripped down?

Try replacing the drive belt first. Bearing failure is associated to getting noisy in fast spin mode and not with noises during the gentle wash actions. That’s usually a worn belt or something stuck in between the inner drum and the outer wash tub.
Thanks for that, I’ll look there first, typically it’s gone away at the moment! The fast spin is blooming loud, but as we’ve just moved house, it was hidden in a cupboard in the last place, could be than I’m just not used to hearing it.
