zanussi IZ16s Jet stream draining problem

Hi,

My Zan IZ16s washing machine is making a very strange noise from the lower front right hand side. Coupled with this is that it appears not to be draining properly. It will drain but only if the outlet pipe is at the height of the bottom of the door.My thought is that the drain pump has packed in or could it be blocked?. Everything else appears ok, its filling, spinning etc. Would any member agree.
Is a pump change is difficult job?

they arent actually that bad if you jut change the pump base

a bit of manual dexterity and patience is in order… with the plug out, of course

if you tilt the machine back and look upwards, behind the filter, youl see what i mean.. theres 3 screws on the pump base
