Been to a elderly lady nearly 90 who has a Zanussi WJD1457W wash dryer and the unit will start a wash cycle, fill up with water slosh it around for 5 -8 mins then pump out and unlock the door with the buzzer sounding off as finished. Display shows something like 2 hours then goes down to 8,7,6, etc.
Spin cycle runs smoothly and drain pump runs ok after clearing out a completely blocked drain pump filter and a partially blocked drain.
Water pressure valve works ok but noticed that the control board seems to be discontinued if needed?

    Anybody seen this problem occur.

Any and all random faults and go Megger those heating elements. Any slight earth leak and the machines electronics goes ‘Apple’ (the new term for dodgy) 😉

    Thanks Martin

Managed to contact the 90 year old lady’s daughter and found out that a water pipe had sprung a leak in the old cottage and run down the walls and probably into the washing machine a few days ago.

Wiped down most of the damp places and the bottom of the drum near the heating element. Placed megger back on washing machine and all looked ok after drying carefully with a hot air blower.

Spot on Martin slight shorts play havoc with the control board. Up and running again. Should have spoken to daughter first after the nice lady took me into her cupboard and gave me a sewing machine to sort out. Bless her.
