When the above machine is set up for the required program, pressing the Start button results in 3 successive clicking noises and it then shows Error E40. The manual lists the error as being “Door Open”, but the door is definitely locked.
Would be very grateful if anyone has any ideas about this.
Many Thanks,
Andy 😛
Door lock can still be faulty – it will initially lock on a solenoid, but still needs to energise the delay lock. There are five potential faults, one is the door lock – the other four are related to the control circuits and the computer. Complex machine – probably time to get some pro help. Click the link below for a UKW engineer in your area.
Power off if you choose to investigate for yourself.
Hi, Penguin45,
Thanks for your help. You say the door lock can still be faulty. Can you tell me how I can check out if this is the faulty part? I’ve got a multimeter etc. If this is the faulty part I could probably change it myself. If not, then as you say, time for the the professionals. Any help greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Andy
as penguin has said this is a complex appliance, the interlock does some processes in conjunction with the elecronics so it is not alway’s possible just to meter it,it also has a diagnostic’s prog so an engineer is most probably your best bet and cheaper sorry
