    Can anyone help with this problem? My machine fills but then tries to spin for a second or two then stops instead of wash, with a spurt of water out of the soap drawer, then drains and works through the cycle, only draining. Doesn’t heat up or wash at all. This just started happening today after washing dirty hillwalking trousers yesterday. The filter is clean and the water is draining ok. Any ideas?

    The tacho generator on the back of the motor has failed. Most likely the magnet has come loose.

    Thanks Martin. That sounds likely as it did shake violently possibly off balance. Could you tell me what this part looks like and can I fix it myself with average DIY skills? Thanks.
