Zanussi Nexus FL-1282 programme problem

Hey guys,
Got a lot of help with a Bosch dishwasher here a couple of years back so I’m back with a problem with a washing machine now.

It has happened before but not often, Just last week it started again and I can’t seem to get rid of it.

Two symptoms (possibly related, possibly not):-

1. The conditioner compartment empties the conditioner into the tub but then replaces it with water and does not drain itself.

2. The programme reaches a point beyond which it will not move.
I’ve tried this with several programmes but it happens in each one and never at the same stage.

Hope this means something to someone and isn’t going to cost me a new machine.

1. The soap drawer needs cleaning…take it out and remove the cover over the conditioner compartment to clean especially in the spigot/tube underneath.

2. Many and various…check the obvious first (filter). if that doesn’t sort it then let us have a bit more info i.e. when it sticks where in the program is it, is it still washing, is it hot, is it stopped dead, is it full of water or empty etc.

I’ve tried cleaning the soap drawer a number of times.
First time I did it, it worked but it hasn’t since.
It’s a 10 year old machine and it hasn’t been draining properly (or at all) for about 5 of those

The programmer itself can stop at any time; I’ve been able to manually progress it each time it happens but it can stop again and seems to do it when the tub’s empty, full, or whenever. It’s like the timer’s just packed up.

Having said that, I’m just doing a load now which stopped for a couple of hours at the point just before it takes any water in. I manually progressed the dial and it’s gone through the rest of the programme without stopping this time.

The soap drawer lets in the conditioner by simply topping up the compartment with water which then syphons out through the spigot under the little cover so the important area to clean is the spigots themselves…do make sure the roof of the dispenser box is clean too so a good flow of water goes into the compartment.

The program problems do actually sound like the timer itself is at fault (very uncommon on these) so it may be worth getting an engineer in to confirm as this is quite a high value part 😕

Is it something I might be able to replace myself?
If I can find out how to do something I’m not afraid of giving it a whirl.

when it sticks can you hear any noises
ticking buzzing or intake of water
y guess would be your machine is siphoning the water out of your stand pipe during the cycle all you have to do is raise the waste further up the stand pipe
let us know how u get on if it is that:)

Yes, I have noticed a sort of buzzing, but it makes the same noise during the cycle.
It can be more pronounced when nothing else is happening to cover it.
There is a very, very, very, faint click which occurs at the point I would assume the programme is stuck at (which can be anywhere really).
Not sure if this is what you mean.

could well be the drain pump these pumps become intermittant and are cause to loads of probs
