Zanussi Oven..Unusual Fault!

    Product 944171370
    Serial 72800167

    No history with this oven as new tenants but the oven element well bubbled up so fitted a genuine new element

    As soon as power switched on the element glows red regardless of position of Oven control switch

    If the element is detached from body of oven so that its not earthed then no problem..?

    What could be causing this?

    well the way I am reading this is it can only be the element

    but also the house cant be fitted with an rcd

    have you checked for earth faults ?

    Someone’s fuffed up the oven mains terminal connection ?

    yes that would make some sense as well. diagram shows all elements live switched so if you swop L & N you would have live to all elements but you would still need an earth fault to cause what is stated
