My neighbour has a Zanussi ZD604W dishwasher. The programme selector switch has dropped down from its normal position. It still rotates and functions however it appears to be spring loaded when trying to put it back into its correct location. Do I need to remove the front cover to repair the switch ie a spring broken if so how? Last year I did fix my washer problem which was a timer with your help so I am not a newbie.

    Many thanks in advance
    Roy

More likely that the timer has fallen off its screws or the plastic mounting lugs have broken inside. Yes, you will have to split the door apart to investigate. Be very careful of the stainless edges – you can shave with them.

    Power off, of course.

Thanks Penguin. I take it you have to take off the intergrated panel or is it all done from the stainless side or does the front plastic panel come off? Do you have any instructions for taking the door apart.
    Thanks

Can’t walk you through it step by step – forum rules above. You do need to remove the decor door, plastic panel and the door outer panel to get full access. Screwdriver job in all honesty.
