Zanussi sc5412 oven not working

Hi,

Oven on FIL’s Zanussi SC5412 is not heating up, have tested both elements (there is one on the left and one on the right) and I am getting a reading of 50 off both elements on continuity test, advice I have found online points to this reading meaning the elements are fine? if so, is there something else I should be checking? i’ve only ever found it to be the element in any oven I have had with this problem, and the fault has always been obvious so never had to test. I do not see any blown parts on elements or any misshape at all,

50 ohms is about right for each oven element (actual read should be 48 ohm). So I’d be thinking a fault with the oven timer (set on auto perhaps?) or the selector switch/thermostat?

Cheers Martin, I’ll try those next, not easy to do, cooker is 20 miles away 😀 I took elements out to take them home and test as I was at inlaws last night when the spoke of the oven not working and they don’t have a multimeter, ah well, looks like they getting another visit tonight from their daughter and favourite SIL (aye right! 😀 )
