ParticipantHi all
I recently had a Zannusi integrated dishwasher ZDV12002FA installed. Today I noticed that a plastic “arm” has disconnected from a hole at the very top of the washing machine. See image here:http://imgur.com/VrIJfRx
I tried pushing the arm back in to the hole but it doesn’t want to stay put.
1) What is this hole at the top of the dishwasher used for?
2) Will water or steam escape upwards through this hole and directly to the underside of my worksurface? Or is there a cap screwed to the top? I have vague recollections of seeing a black plastic screw cap on the very top of the washing machine.
3) Is there a way to fix this without completely dismantling and removing the dishwasher out? It’s a very snug fit and will be rather hard to pull out.
Cheers

Hi Nick,
About the only thing I can see at the top to fix the upper arm is this:

I can’t really see anything else it could be and, the image isn’t all that clear.

Thanks for the response. That looks like the thing that was on the outside of the dishwasher on the very top.
Does it need to be fixed – the arm is pretty rigid and is close to the correct position. My only concern is that where the arm previous was is a hole… I don’t really want water or steam going through the hole and out of the top of the machine. Do you know if it’s sealed on the otherside?
Cheers

Also just to clarify, the “arm” doesn’t spin round or anything, it runs along the back of the dishwasher and then along the top to the centre.
Thanks

I’d need the PNC to check it, there’s multiple variants of that model.

Hi, excuse my ignorance but what is a PNC?
It’s this one: http://www.zanussi.co.uk/products/dishwashing/built-in/fully_integrated/zdv12002fa/ if that helps.

Explained here:
https://ukwhitegoods.freshdesk.com/supp … pare-parts
Essentially like the VIN number on your car. Without it, you can get incorrect parts, even a different machine on occasion.
The only place you can get it is on the rating plate of the machine, trust not other sources as they will invariably be incorrect.

This shows you the upper spray arm and feed pipe.

Thanks for investigating. So the bit that has fallen out the hole is the very top bit of part 145 that overhangs.
It’s still in the right position, just not sitting in the hole. Do you think it’s sealed from above or would this lead straight to the work surface? I have memories of seeing a plastic cap on the outside of the machine above where this hole was.
Cheers

No idea if I’m honest as I’ve not seen one and, I can’t make it out from the photo.

Ok thanks all the same. Do you know if the top part of that part serves any purpose other then to secure it to the machine?

It’s likely there for a smaller top spray arm on some variants but, that’s a best guess.
