I have a problem with the figure 8 fan belt. It keeps coming off ❗ Not sure of the model No. few months since my last visit but its similar to a TC 470 only a later model.
There is no end float or play in either the fan or the motor shaft.
I have already fitted two new ” green ” fan belts.
Has this happened to any one else ?

Not wishing to teach granny to suck eggs – are you sure you have the twist the correct way around. From experience, if you have it the wrong way around the belt comes off, if the correct way it doesn’t

There is also a felt pad which helps stop the belt rubbing, but there is a kit to modify it from a belt driven to a electric driven fan.

    Thanks for replies.

Belt is definitely the right way round.

How easy is it to wire this electric fan and what is the cost ?

    Just a thought.

Why was an electric driven fan offered as a replacement ?

Was it because the belts kept coming off ?

Or is it more efficient ?

I Have had this fault many times the first few times the machine chucked the belt off within a few weeks,
i noticed on one dryer the cabinet by the motor was bent so the motor was out of line straightened cabinet no more problems always check them now:)
