If the tank is filling then it is obviously taking some moisture out of the clothes.

Have you checked that the fan belt has a twist in it as it will not dry properly if it has’nt. (fan goes in wrong direction).

The little green fan belt on the back- is it worn and stretched? Was it off when you dismantled it? Change it in either case. Both cause a loss of volume of air over the heater; ie stats switch on / off regularly = very low heat in the drum. Also, make sure the belt is refitted in a ‘figure 8’ shape. (there’s a diagram of this on the back of the plastic cover plate). If it’s fitted in an ‘oval’ shape it will run the fan in reverse giving the same result as a slack belt – low air volume. Check the felt guide is in place under the green fan belt to stop the belt from fouling on itself where it crosses over ( figure 8 )
Don’t forget the condenser – could be blocked as well. 😉

    Hope this helps!!!

What about a blocked door ducting?
ie below the filter and out at the condenser coupling

Thanks for your input it made we look properly at the fan and found it was jamming up and running slow.
