The bottle full sensor comes on even when the water bottle is empty. It goes out again but sometimes it takes a few hours or on one occasion a full day. Any help on diagnosing this would be much appreciated. 🙁

The sensor works on a trip switch – when the water is unable to flow into the chamber, it pools in the machine and operates a float switch. Over time, this area can get filled with residual fluff, leaving the switch in the activated position. Alternatively, the valve on the drawer and from the chamber can become jammed with fluff and simply not open – again, water pools in the machine, operating the switch.

Access is awkward, as the machine has to be extensively dismantled to get at the switch/float chamber. If you’re not sure, get pro help – check repairs@ or Directories for a UKW engineer in your area.

If you’re going to have a go, pull the plug first.

ManyThanks – |I had called a firm to give me an estimate on fixing it – but they didn’t turn up for the appointment (typical in this area or is it just me ) – I think I ‘ll give it a go myself – nothing to lose althoughI will probably need to borrow the tools for the job. I have some tools but only kinda basic screwdrivers etc but I should be able to borrow them from the engineers at work. I take it you need to start from the back panel and what kind of tools will I need?
