    I have just changed the drive belt(- Zanussi Belt – Poly Vee – ZAN1258288008) on my tumble dryer after the last one broke. I cannot get the belt to tighten enough to rotate the drum. The new belt is exactly the same length as the old one although a little wider. It was bought from a reputable Zanussi spares shop and is apparently the correct one for the job. Any ideas as I am now a very frustrated DIYer.

    The pulley must be under tension against the belt. Rotate motor against spring and re-route belt to other side of pulley.
