Zanussi TC7102W Timer wont stop at zero

Hi I have been to the above t/d today the prob was de m/c was tripping the breaker I found that some of the gasket that sits between the back of the m/c and the cover of the heating element had falling down into the element and when I removed this it solved the prob.The customer has rang back saying the m/c wont stop at zero on the dial when high heat is selected it just keeps working through until it reaches the zero on the low haet side of the dial. Has anyone come across this before.
