Customer reports that she had a similar fault fixed on this machine 5 or 6 years ago.

Select programme, display lights up and start button light flashes but when start button is pressed, nothing happens except for the light flashing.

    Machine looks quite sound overall.

Removed facia and found the thin plastic ‘Diffuser luminous’ doofer broken above the start switch. Simples thought I, ordered part 1257429306 and returned today to fit but it is still the same.

The problem is that because this switch ‘appears’ to be malfunctioning you cannot then run the diagnostics. The tiny switch on the user interface PCB looks to be OK.

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions. I’m leaning towards the PCB being at fault myself.

    TIA.

    Jim.

Does this model have the microswitch behind the condenser door?

Need to have a look, not sure. Would that prevent it going into diagnostics though?

    Jim.

EDIT, Just checked on TDS and it appears to have a full size door interlock.

This switch is behind the lower plastic panel. Totally separate to the door interlock.

Hmm, I can see a microswitch on the parts diagram, it looks too low for the main door though, possibly operated by the door to the condensor?????

Would a failure there cause this fault, that is to say being unable to run diagnostics?

It is not that far away so its no problem to pop back and check it out though. 🙂

    Jim.

EDIT. That will teach me to read your post correctly, just spotted the bit about the ‘condensor’ door. :clown: 😳 DOH.

Popped back this afternoon, condensor door micro switch OK.

Customer doesn’t want to go any further with the repair. 🙁
