    I cannot see a sensor in the drum.

    The only way of stopping the dryer is to open the door. It worked fine for about 22 years. I changed the bearings about 2 years ago.

    Can someone please advise what to change

    No on a dryer that old all you’ll have is thermostats, no sensor I wouldn’t think.

    At a guess, I’d reckon the timer was fragged and I’d be surprised if it were available.
