    Guys,

Popped into a job on Friday where the customer had a Zanussi TD4112W tumble drier that was on the blink. Customer reports putting the machine on and it blowing a fuse after about 5 minutes of use.

Flying through I tried the machine and it operated on full heat for about 5 minutes before turning itself off. At first I thought a fuse had blown but this was not the case. What I did notice was that when the door was opened the on/off led lit up and the timer continued to operate. Upon closing the door to the drier the led went out and the timer stopped. It took about 5 minutes for the machine to kick back in and after a few more minutes of operating the machine did the same again. I’ve checked the heater element/thermostats and all seemed to be fine. Am I missing another thermostat elsewhere, or is the problem elsewhere?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Seems very strange, looking at wiring diagram for this model it appears that there are no thermostat in line before switch contacts and assuming electris to the machine are OK would think probably timer on this one – as the light & timer stops when you close door I would suspect electris to machine let me know if you req diagram

Colin, a wiring diagram would be great if you have one to hand.
