I have a Zanussi fridge freezer ZFK47/52RF (yes, I’m really that old!)
No matter what setting I use I cannot get the freezer temperature below about -20 C.
I have tried to fine tune the temp. to -18 C but the cooling becomes unstable. Consequently to keep my food frozen at a reasonable temperature it is pumping most/all of the time which is costing me a fortune.
Is there a likely cause, is it reasonable to repair it or should I put my hand in my pocket and buy another one.

    Thanks

    Martin

If it’s that old, you’ll have a tired compressor and maybe a loss of coolant. Not really a cost effective repair, unless you’re attached to the old girl.

    Hi

There may be a build up of ice/snow on the evaperator.
Turn the appliance off and leave both doors open for 24 hours then restart the appliance. This will defrost the appliance,If the problem reoccurs then you have a defrost problem.
