My Zanussi zde47100 dryer was making a loud noise that got louder and louder. I found the fan wheel was rubbing away the plastic because it was out of line. I fitted a new fan wheel, tightly, and all was quiet….heaven!

After a short while, the same noise started and is getting worse. The motor spindle that the fan fits on is slack, so drops, making it out of line. As there is not much room between the housing and spindle, I used tinfoil to even it out (strange, I know) but it worked!

It started the noise again after a while and is getting worse. Although I know what’s happening, I’m not sure what to do to permanently solve it. I would very much appreciate any ideas that could possibly help me to fix it. I suffer depression and the noise is so distressing, making me worse. I also cannot afford to get someone in to fix it.

    Many thanks in advance!

If the fan is good then logically it’s what’s holding it there or what it’s fitted to that’s the problem you’d have to assume.

Do you have the PNC number off it?

I already know this, as explained. I’m unsure if it’s a problem with the motor shaft or the plastic housing that the shaft sits in.

The model no is: ZDE47100W and the PNC is: 91609335700
