Hi, I’ve been given one of these tumble dryers, and it makes a horrible rumbling noise when switched on. The drum is turning, but I can’t tell if it’s the drum, the fan or the motor.
Does anyone have any preliminary ideas? I think the previous owner said he had managed to squirt some “grease into the bearings”, but added that he wasn’t able to see any way of changing the bearings. He was an engineer, but not a domestic appliance engineer. I can’t ask him about it, because he’s dead.
Is there any hope for my tumble dryer, , or am I domed to hang my smalls over the bath all winter?
    TIA,

Further investigation has narrowed it down to the fan on the back of the motor (can post pictures if it would help).
    Everything else appears fine.
Can anyone, or an expert if anyone isn’t available, tell me if the fan is available as a separate part please…it appears to be broken on the plastic fan shaft, but is made of the sort of plastic that can’t be glued.
If it’s not too expensive I could order this and the bearings I need for my LG intellowasher at the same time 😛

The plastic fan on the motor is p/no 1506034-00/6. spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will be able to get you one promptly.
