Zanussi Tumble Dryer TD160 – parts help

Hi All,
In the hope someone can help with my query. I am having trouble with the element on my Zanussi TD160 tumble dryer not heating. I have narrowed it down to the thermal cut out in the vent/duct and ordered a new part.

I received the replacement part but it only has two terminals (like the thermostats near the heater element) whereas the original had three wires going to it (black, black and pink). I called the spares company and they said it was the right part (54 degree stat) and they could see a bulletin by the manufacturer saying the part had been updated. Unfortunately there was no further information available on retro fitting the new part in place of the old.

Any idea how i can fit the new part using the old wiring? The old part had three wires going to it, two black wires and one pink. The new part has only two terminals.

You might like to check the old stat as those 2 black leads may well be joined internally? That being the case then they both would need to be saddled together on the new stat with the pink on the other terminal.

All the wiring diagrams for this model show just 2 wires going to the stat anyway. 😕

Any further queries you may have then can I suggest you give use the full PNc number off the rating plate (e g 916????????)

I will try to see if the two black wires are joined internally and get back to you.

Diagram shows internal connection of 2&3 pins of t’stat .

Great will take it apart and have a look at pins 2 & 3. I am hoping they are the two black wires. Will let you know.
