Zanussi tumble dryer ZDC67550W not tumbling…

Hi.

Id be really grateful if anyone can help.

My zanussi model ZDC67550W tumbler is broken. Today I switched it on and there is a buzzing noise but the drum doesn’t rotate. So I took the top off and the belt looks fine. If I switch on and spin the drum quite a bit then it seems to then be fine and work. Does anyone know what this is caused by? Is it the capacitor? I saw there are two… well outside of my comfort zone… so any help would be very gratefully recieved.

sounds like a motor capacitor failure

Thanks Dave. Should I replace both capacitors? There are two (this is my first time fixing something like a tumbler)

probably although the larger one is most likely the main cause

there are different caps depending on when its built
