    Hi,

    I have the type:P6359678 Prod No.914601638/00

All was fine and today when I turn the dial nothing lights up as if the fuse has blown.

I’ve googled about and tried holding down Start/Pause with the button next to it, turned the dial one position clockwise, and the panel lights up (no E?? code) and appears to be starting a cycle, with water entering the drum. After about 6 seconds all stops as if the plug has been pulled. I have to leave it switched off for at least 20 minutes to try again otherwise I get nothing at all.

    Any ideas?

    Nigel

Hi Martin, thanks for the speedy reply. Is that an easy fix for me? Do I just take the top off and give the wires a wiggle? 🙂

Hi, I’ve taken the lid off and there’s a silver foil bit running front to back in the middle with several wires plugged in at the back. I’ve pulled all the wires off and now when I select a program it starts as normal but goes off after a couple of seconds into taking in water.

That rules out the dryer heater then so refit the wires. Next try the motor, the brushes could be worn down.

I’ve lent the washer backwards and looked at the motor from underneath with a bright light. I’m guessing the brushes are what look like two dark metal bits on either side of a rotary section inside. I can see that they are pressing against the centre bit as intended. I’ve attached some pictures as I may be missing something in my description.

OK the motor brushes appear OK. Set the machine on a spin cycle ONLY…..tell us what happens then?

    Hi Martin,

I’ve connected all the wires back up. Turned the dial to spin and pressed start. Everything looked like it was going to work and then, click…. the power goes dead.

Do keep up Nigel, try a spin only cycle. 😀

On the video I hear the door interlock click. Can you check that the door actually locks at the point you press the start button. AND…the moment the display goes dead can you then immediately open the door?

The door locks and stays locked.

Then you’d best check the ribbon cable between the display board and the main PCB. Possible bad connection there?

    Re: Zanussi Washer/Dryer ZWD1680W – no lights/power

    Hi Martin,

Is there a power relay switch somewhere? When I turn the dial, say to spin or any setting, without pressing start, everything lights up OK as it should then after about 6 seconds the power is dead and there’s no power at all for a good 10 minutes.

    Thanks,

    Nigel
