Zanussi washer won’t stop filling

My Zanussi WDJ1285 washer / dryer won’t stop filling with water. It fills until water floods out of the soap drawer. I have cleaned the drawer & filter. Is there a level switch somewhere that I can check ? What tells it when to stop filling ? Thanks.

There is a level control switch which is fed from a chamber on the filter manifold – probably the air chamber is blocked which can be quite fiddly to clean and in some cases it’s easier to change the whole manifold unit which is not expensive.

If youre going to have a go yourself make sure you pull the plug first, alternatively have a look in the repairs@ section to see if there’s someone in your area as this can be a fiddly job.

Thanks farmboy. I will have a go myself, seeing as I completely dismantled the thing recently to change the bearings ! Can you give me a clue what / where I am looking for please ? Many thanks.

He’s talking about the box section attached to the filter. Check the skinny hoses running up to the level switches before performing the demolition job. They may be chaffed through.

Power off before attempting anything.

I found a chafed hose, now working fine.
