ParticipantMy washing machine is a Zanussi, model FJS 1225W Jet System 1200 XC.
I have just come back from a weeks holiday. It worked before I left but won’t play now.
When I press the on/ off button, the door locked light comes on immediately. This is without a program having been selected or started. I then selected a program and pressed start and the cycle does not start. That’s about it really. I’ve checked the the filter, it is clean because I cleaned it about 2 weeks ago. I have also checked the filter in the incoming water which is also fine. There are no error messages.
Having just come back off holiday, I am quickly running out of clean clothes!
I would appreciate any pointers/ help.

A bit of extra info. The door locked light does not come on until I select a washing cycle. This is a correction from my first post.

If you select spin only does it operate?

To do this, I selected a cycle and then removed all parts of the cycle apart from the spin and then pressed go and nothing happened. By the way, the door locked light was on throughout.

Try slamming the door a few times. It might be the interlock at fault. It lives behind the front panel where the door catch engages. This might be sufficient to get it going this time but it will need replacing!
Post again if this works or not.

Have tried slamming the door a few times. This didn’t work but I understand the logic. There are two screws on the front next to the catch. Do I remove these to get to the switch. Don’t worry, I will isolate the power first!
Re. the pump/ motor. May these be suspect because the machine didn’t fully pump out on it’s last use? Anyway, I don’t know how to take the machine apart but will if I have to.
Thanks for your replies so far.

Machine performs a self-diagnostic on start up. If motor or pump are not in circuit, it won’t go.

Reading these public forums cracks me up sometimes, what a laugh 😆
This one is no exception, door slamming eh??? Dear oh dear! 🙁
Mind you the door lock is the department of trouble I shouldn’t wonder? After all looking ‘through the keyhole’…the clues are there…. 8)

One weeks holiday and I bet you never fully switched the machine off did you stu?

I think I would poke the finger of suspicion on the door lock (interlock) mechanism? Don’t hit it with a big stick mind, just replace it. Better still, get a local expert to check it out for you (see link below)
