KeymasterHi
I have a Zanussi Jetsystem 1200 washing machine, model no. FJS 1225W.When you select a program the display shows the duration, the machine then starts its cycle but after 2-3 minutes the machine skips wash/rinse and spin then shows 3 minutes remaining in the display, empties and does a short spin
any ideas? 🙄

It sounds like a software config error to me.
There is no error code being displayed at all is there ?
Also the PNC from the rating label inside the door would be useful.
Dave.

I always ask my customers to check that their drains are clear and that they have cleaned the filter out on the front of the machine before calling an engineer. Sometimes a blocked filter can cause unusual problems.
Failing that it does sound as if the PCB may have a problem and I would advise calling your local Service Force engineer which can be found on the Zanussi website. http://www.zanussi.co.uk

Crampatot,
You’re indeed quick to advise contacting Zanussi, have you a vested interest I wonder? The many independants that monitor this site are well qualified to help and do offer FREE advise to consumers. I doubt if Zanussi are so charitable 🙁

Many thanks for the replies that have been posted so far, the front filter has been cleared with no difference but I have not managed to check the pipes.
The details on the label inside the front door are as follows:
Model No. FJS 1225W
Product No. 914512720/00
Type P6347639
Seriel No. 107 00150IPX4
I dont know if this throws any more light on the problem but here’s hoping
Thanks again

If the pcb was recognising any error it would display this as E??. As it isn’t it can only really be a software error.
Not a DIY job this one really, check the directories section for an engineer in your area or let us know your postcode, someone from the site should be able to help.

I’ve got the exact same machine and have had error codes and programs not operating as they should from time to time. As a service engineer for photocopiers I decided to try my hand at fixing the problems myself with great success.
Firstly, check that all the obvious stuff is ok, like door, filter, pipes etc.
Then switch the machine on with the orange button while holding the Start and Skip buttons. The display will show the usual 3 dashes then you will hear a beep and the led’s will turn on and off in some sort of test mode. Press the Fabrics button repeatedly (the leds will scroll through Fabrics, then Temperature, etc, etc) till the display shows Exx (the x’s are usually a number). Then withe the E number in the display, press the Start (or Skip, can’t remember) button and this should clear the E code. Then switch off.
Switch on holding the 2 buttons again, but this time release the buttons when the 3 dashes appear and all should be well. Don’t worry if the machine displays EE0, beeps and starts a wash cycle, just switch off and try again.
It does seem that this model has random software lock-ups from time to time, and so far I have managed to get the machine operating perfectly by just resetting the E code. I hope it works for you too.
Regards

I would be very wary of doing that without the service manual as it is easily possible to either change or wipe out the configeration of the software if you hit the wrong button at the wrong time. Just be careful out there that you dont make it any worse and need it reconfigered just to establish what the original fault was. +knowing the last error code may be useful information for any engineer who may visit.

E90 is a Configuration Error message so a ‘Reset’ hopefully may resolve your problem 🙂
