    Good morning

My washing machine has stopped working and I’d be grateful for some advice.

    Model Zanussi ZWF 1210W.

It stopped working during a cycle, after draining but before spinning, leaving the end light flashing (3 flashes, pause, 3 flashes, etc). Now on any programme, including drain or spin, it makes a noise as if trying to start, then the end light flashes as above.

I have cleared the pump, which had some small fabric pieces in it but nothing major.

If I press and hold the Start button and half load button, the start and end button both flash 3 times, which I understand means Error Code 33 (Incongruous between closure of anti-boiling and 1st level contacts of pressure switch)

    My questions are:

    1) Is there anything further I can try myself?

    2) Can anyone give an idea of the fault and likely repair costs? It must be old, I’ve used it 5 years and it was already pretty old when I got it. I’m wondering if it’s worth getting an engineer in or whether I should just start shopping for a new one. I was anyway considering replacing with a washer dryer!

    Thanks for your help.

Depends on what your ability is of course, the heater needs to be meggered to checkif its low to ground, the pressure switch cabling & P.C.B also needs checking.
Drain system & water level control needs checked but you say you have done this, but it would need double checked.

Get a quote from Engineer to find out estimated costs.

Thank you. I don’t have much ability, and the tests you are suggested are almost certainly beyond me.

I guess I was hoping someone could say, based on the symptoms, the fault is likely to be X, and so the repair will be in the range of £X-£Y. Then I’ll know if it’s worth pursuing repair at all.
