Hi , just joined so lets see if it works!

I have a geriatric wd1012 which has been great but has developed a filling problem.

The dispeser tray has 3 sections A,B and C

    C is the treatments tray

B is the one used for most programs

A is used for pretreatments and boilwashes.

My problem is that water flushes the contents of section B absolutely fine but not A or C.

You can hear water trying to get to the tray but if you pull the dispenser out and have a look while it is trying to use A or C only a light trickle runs down the back of the compartment while B showers from the holes on the top when its asked to.

I have steam cleaned the compartment and the holes in A and C with no improvement.

    Can you help please.

Help getting the lid off would be a good start!

    many thanks

    Hi

It looks like you have low wayer pressure on your hot fill,Try to pull the machine out slightly to see if the inlet hose is kinked.
The water tap may not be open fully either.

    Re: zanussi wd1012 filling problem

There is a piston that runs along the back of the dispenser, operated by a cam on the timer. If you take the top off >> MAINS OFF <<

Check 1st of all that as you manually turn the knob that the piston actually pushes in & out. Don’t bother with any adjustments as they are pre-set.

Strong chance the dispenser lid is scaled up. Part no longer available, but an overnight soak in vinegar may sort it.

    Best of luck

    many thanks for your replies
I will try the water pressure on the hot first, then I’ll try to get the lid off if that doesn’t work. Any advice on how to do that would be appreciated!

Two screws at the back. Wiggle (the lid, not you), comes off.

Hot water alone is only called for on the 90 deg programme, and again in conjunction with the cold on the 60 deg. In both cases the hot comes straight into the centre compartment, and is not deflected by the piston at the rear of the dispenser. I seem to recall you have no problem with the centre compartment.

I doubt under such circumstances the hot water pressure will have any bearing.

Once again thanks for the replies.

    An update.

    I got the lid off!!!!!!

Anyway, I checked the water flow and pressure through both the hot and cold supply pipes and they are both fine, I cleaned the filters but they were ok anyway.

What I have found though is that water comes in through the hot pipe when requested to do so but only trickles in through the cold when requested.

Inside the machine on the cold supply is what appears to be a valve with 2 solenoids on it (the hot has a similar thing but only one solenoid)

The solenoid on the cold side supplying the pipe that feeds the soap dispenser in slots A and C has a 240v supply going to it but is only allowing a trickle through, there is another pipe coming off the other cold solenoid going down into the drum, that one has no voltage going to it during the wash cycle but seems to derive its supply via the drier selector?

Is this valve/twin solenoid unit likely to be the problem or even still available? the solenoid with the voltage measures 4.3k ohm the other solenoid appears to be open circuit.

    Thanks for reading this

Solenoid to tank, forget that one. Supplies the dry condenser.

Turn off water supply to M/C. Take the cold inlet hose off the valve on the rear outside, look at the filter in the end of the valve, may be silted up.

Hold the end of the main inlet hose over a bucket & turn the water back on, should blast out nicely. If not investigate your cold supply.

If good, and filter clean, where the cranked tube (goes round or behind the spring) from the inlet valve enters the dispenser, there is an anti-noise nozzle, and that tends to scale up.

Valves still available as fairly generic.

    Re: zanussi wd1012 filling problem

Ah! Just read your post properly. Water pressure o.k. then.

This cranked hose, the noise limiter is in the end of the stub on the cabinet side of the dispenser where the hose attaches.

If you whip the hose off the dispenser, you will see what appears to be a small white ring or washer. This is the end of the nozzle, and will prise out with a screwdriver. Then you can look through this nozzle and clear if reqd. Failing that, take off the disp lid & soak it.
