Hi all
Just discovered this forum while doing a search for a new washer/dryer – what a useful resource and wish I had found it earlier!
I have a Zanussi WD15 washer dryer. For the last few months the start button on the panel used to be temperamental and work intermittently or had to be pressed hard to activate.
I did try and remove and refix the rubber button a couple of times but the inner contact on the panel (the bit that is on the inside) was getting worn off.
Ultimately I removed the button and used a simple screwdriver to depress the plastic nub inside to turn it on and off. Now after a month or so of using this method the plastic has corroded and apparently we might have also damaged the board inside!
Along with this problem the WD15 used to be temperamental and cut off randomly during a washing cycle. This was getting more frequent until some weeks ago where now the machine is completely dead.
So my question is if I can get this fixed? Would replacing the board do the job? If this can indeed be fixed will it be more economical i.e. less than £150 or would I be better of buying a new washer/dryer?
I plan to call Zanussi on Monday but would appreciate some advice from independent sources.
Thanks for all help in advance
