Zanussi WDJ1285 Outer Door Frame or Door Assembly Needed

I have a Zanussi WDJ1285 washer / dryer. The plastic which supports the whole door handle / latch assembly has got tired and cracked around the door latch hinge, which means that the whole door latch is loose.

The broken plastic is part of the Outer Door Frame, but every website I search for the Outer Door Frame just lists it as obsolete and out of stock. I would be happy with a second-hand door or a colour mismatched door (if a door from a different model happened to fit) but I don’t want to have to scrap a perfectly reliable machine just because the door frame has failed.

Can anyone advise where I can get the relevant spare part from?

Zanussi part number was 1245100-40/7, but it is coming up as obsolete on the trade supply sites which I’ve just looked at.

Are there any trade suppliers which tend to hold old stock longer than others, so might still have it in stock?

Alternatively, is there anyone reputable that deals in second hand parts?

It’s a complete lottery, Bill. Forget the internet sites – they’re purely retail and don’t hold stock anyway.

Up here in Leeds, we have Dill and Sons and Megan Electrical who are both Serviceforce agents. You might hit lucky, you might not. Quick scout on Yell.com should find the numbers.

Are you still after the door/latch assembly ?

Our WDJ1285 died over the weekend (the drain pump failed) and as it has been in service for 15 years, we’ve decided to buy a new one. If you’re interested in having it, or showing me exactly which part it is you’re after, I can take it off and post it to you.

That would be magic!

What I need is the white ring that makes up the outside face of the door – but it’s probably simplest if you could send me the whole door – it’s just held on with two bolts at the hinge.

I’ll PM you my details.
