ParticipantYears of good service. No warning signs; machine literally tries to leap around the kitchen. Stripped machine; bearings aok: found speed sensor?? at end of motor had been shaken loose and hanging out. Replaced and glued into position; retried but no change. Machine is physically dangerous and like a deranged R2D2!
Thoughts please, urgently as SWMBO is eyeing up the bank balance.August 8, 2005 at 4:00 pm #144235farmboy

When you re-glued the cover did you check to see if there was a little round magnet inside – it’s moulded onto a plastic thread & screws into the end of the motor.
Pull the plug first…

Farmboy. Thanks for reply. I did check and yes there was. I screwed it firmly back into position. No change, machine still dangerous.

Other possibilities are earth leakage through the motor or blown electronics. Both can give your machines symptons.

Penguin. T F R. To localise the faulty component, would a technician replace say the motor, and then the pcb?

An experienced engineer should be able to diagnose your problem without fitting parts you dont need, have a look at the repairs@ section to see if theres someone in your area.

Farmboy, T F R, I had a look under repairs, it seems there is no one nearby. The boss is getting very restive, I guess I shall bite the bullet!
I thank the moderators generally for running a really usefull service.August 10, 2005 at 1:31 pm #144242Martin

Oh Dear!…I guess he’s gone now and no-one mentioned the likelyhood that when the tacho coil fell off the end of the motor it most likely went open circuit or the flailing magnet naffed up the windings 🙁
Fitting a new Tacho Kit (Part No: 50204873009) would have solved the problem 😕
qué será será 🙄

Martin, T F R. I console myself with the knowledge that everything in the house has now been washed. There is now a smile; I’m looking forward to dinner time!
