ParticipantHi, I just bought a WJD1257 washer/dryer for £186.99 plus delivery from the Comet auctions, it has small dents and scratches in both sides but is guaranteed for 12 months please can anyone tell me if this is a good machine and also if the cosmetic damage (which won’t be seen in situ) is liable to affect the working of the machine.
Many thanks,

I suppose it depends on how much the charge is for delivery. 😉

Thanks Martin, I had hoped so, as I really wanted a Zanussi or a Bosch as that what I have at home (this is for my better halfs place).
The delivery charge Bryan is £29.99 does that still make it a bargain?
Thanks guys

Yes , still a very good price but will there be anything extra to pay for installation/connection of new and disconnection/disposal of old appliance ?

Ive got my spirit level ready and a willing son to do the installation, I’ve supervised a few in my 51 years with little problem but I am hoping he can remember how we blocked off the hot water fill at my house last year because this is cold fill only the same as mine. Its a bonus that the controls are very similar except I have a separate dryer so I wont have to stand around scratching my head remembering how it works. 😆
I am trying to find a suitable home for the old machine which still looks like new and works well, hoping to find a harassed Mum (been there 🙄 ) or a skint youngster starting out that I can donate it to for free rather than having to sell it. (no room for messing about with storage)
I must thank you all so much for this site, I have learnt so much about my appliances and what to do and not as the case may be, you are all hero’s

Normally the tap in the off position would be enough but given the quality of taps used these days I don’t trust them at all 🙁
PM/Email me your address Lynn and I’ll send you a blanking nut and seal, I’ve got loads of them 😀
Dave.
