Zanussi WJD 1667 W not drying

Hi, I have a Zanussi WJD1667W that has to be fair not been drying clothes too well for a while, now it just stops every 5 mins during the dry cycle on a E20 (drain filter clogged) error, if you clear the error, it will run for another 5 mins, but then error again.
The filter is clear, and the pump seems to be in good working order as it emptys the drain well during wash cycles, it is just drying it doesn’t like.
Is it the condenser, and if so is there anything else I should be trying, or is it engineer time?
(and is it likely to be expensive? 😯 )

Most likely the pump needs replacing but I would recommend getting an expert to take a look, shouldn’t be too costly if you choose to call in a local independant engineer, try this link to see if we have one in your area:Repairs@

I got itchy fingers last night, and just popped the back off for a look. It revealed a large transparent plastic container that took up the right hand side of the machine. I assume its the condenser thingy as it attached to the tub at the bottom and the fan at the top and had a cold water feed at the top.

It was jam packed full of the last two or three years of fluff, it just clipped out at the top and there was a hose clip at the bottom, a wash out with the hose pipe emptied it, and last night it ran a complete cycle and dried the clothes fully for the first time in an age.

Badly blocked condensor will bring up an E20 error code in the first few minutes of the dry cycle.
